There is nothing stopping singer/songwriter Rhonda Funk from accomplishing her goals and dreams of becoming a hit songwriter in Nashville.  After nearly losing her life and surviving a brain surgery for an aneurysm in September of 2016, Rhonda picked up a guitar that December, (a piano player who only knew a few guitar chords) and made herself learn to play it.

Two months later she found herself holding a guitar at Sunday Guitars in Bend, Oregon saying “I’m still making that damn album.”

And she did.  March of 2017, Rhonda stepped foot into Omnisound Studios in Nashville, Tennessee and recorded 10 songs on her independent release “Someday” (available on iTunesSpotify,AmazonCD Baby, and wherever music is sold). That week she was blessed to perform at an open mic at The Bluebird Cafe, Blue Bar and Rack Room in Midtown and started networking with incredible songwriters already pursuing their dreams.

Rhonda traveled back and forth to Nashville from her home in Oregon and spent two weeks at a time working with industry professionals, networking and singing in writers rounds. Meanwhile, she was invited to perform for nearly 70 weeks in a row at venues small and large, her biggest being the LRS Fest in 2017 in Paulina Oregon, ending with her involvement with the Oregon Jamboree Mystery Concert opening for Daryl Worley at Oregon State University early 2018, and taking the stage at the Oregon Jamboree in August of 2018 to perform in front of a few thousand people.

Now, spring of 2019, less than 8 months into her move she has been featured at the Smokey Mountain Songwriters Festival with Nashville Rising Song,  Tin Roof (Demonbreun and Broadway) with Rise 615 and Last Train Home Nashville, and in several writers rounds at The Commodore Grille, Millennium Maxwell House, Belcourt Taps, and several others.
